What just happened? Amazon has expanded its Wi-Fi 7 mesh router lineup with the introduction of two new products: the Eero 7 and Eero Pro 7. The launch comes nearly four months after the company released the Eero Outdoor 7 and more than a year after debuting the Eero Max 7.
Both new routers deliver ultra-fast multi-gigabit connectivity, enhancing performance and reliability while reducing latency. According to Amazon, they are specifically designed for bandwidth-intensive networks and can keep users connected even under the most demanding conditions.
The Eero Pro 7 features tri-band connectivity (2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz) with wireless speeds up to 3.9 Gbps and wired speeds up to 4.7 Gbps via its two 5 GbE ports. The Eero 7, a dual-band router (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz), supports wireless speeds up to 1.8 Gbps and wired speeds up to 2.3 Gbps through its two 2.5 GbE ports.
Each unit of the Eero 7 and Eero Pro 7 provides up to 2,000 square feet of coverage, sufficient for most households. For larger homes, a dual-node setup extends coverage to 4,000 square feet, while a tri-node setup expands it to 6,000 square feet. The Eero Pro 7 supports up to 200 devices, though Amazon has not specified the device limit for the base model.
The Eero Pro 7 features a fanless, advanced passive cooling design, similar to its higher-end counterpart, the Eero Max 7. It is also backward-compatible with all previous Eero devices, making it easy to expand or upgrade an existing network.
Both new Eero models include three patented technologies to enhance usability:
- TrueMesh: Automatically routes data through the fastest available path in the network.
- TrueRoam: Seamlessly connects users to the strongest signal as they move between floors, rooms, or buildings.
- TrueChannel: Dynamically selects the optimal channel to improve network stability and performance.
Both the Eero 7 and Eero Pro 7 are now available for pre-order on Amazon and Eero.com. They will officially launch in the US on February 26 and in Canada on March 7. Availability will later expand to the UK, Italy, France, Germany, Spain, Australia, and Japan.
The Eero 7 is the company's most affordable Wi-Fi 7 router, with prices starting at $169.99 for a single unit. The two-pack and three-pack bundles cost $279.99 and $349.99, respectively. The Eero Pro 7 is priced at $299.99 (one-pack), $549.99 (two-pack), and $699.99 (three-pack).
