It’s not officially Black Friday yet, but some fantastic Black Friday deals are already available if you're looking for a new ereader. For starters, the ever-popular Amazon Kindle is now down to £79.99 (was £104.99). That’s a return to the same price as last year’s Black Friday event, and one of the few times we've seen it discounted over the last 12 months.

In our Amazon Kindle review, we gave it four stars, citing some concerns that it isn’t a true upgrade over the previous model. However, if you haven’t owned a Kindle before (or for a while), you’ll appreciate its “brighter screen light” and “better performance with minimal ghosting.” It remains the best Kindle for anyone on a budget, with its Matcha green colorway being particularly attractive.

The best ereader market is an increasingly varied one, but for many people, the simplicity of the Kindle ecosystem makes it an easy choice to make. While the best tablets also allow you to use the Kindle app, by using a dedicated Kindle, you won’t have to worry about being distracted by notifications.

It’s also small enough to toss into your bag, so, at any moment throughout the day, you can sneak in a few pages. I’ve found that owning a Kindle has led me to read a lot more in recent years.

For anyone considering spending a little more, there are other Kindle deals available. If you need more functionality, there are numerous tablet deals too if you want something more powerful or feature-rich.
