Amazon's tablets are known for their affordability and tight integration with its first-party apps like Amazon Prime, Prime Video, and so on. If you're already a frequent Amazon customer, I'd especially recommend looking into the Amazon HD Fire 8 Tablet while it's on sale for $54.99 (was $99.99).

It's hard to beat this price at nearly 50% off the cheapest option. The lower-priced model comes with 32GB storage, but you can also get the same tablet with 64GB storage for $84.99 (was $129.99). If you have an older tablet to trade in, you can also get an extra 20% off your purchase.

Today's best Amazon Fire tablet deal

In our Amazon HD Fire 8 review, we highlighted its affordability and small conveniences like camera placement and port selection with support for both headphone jacks and USB-C. Amazon has since refreshed this model with a 2024 version, which is even better.

The Amazon HD Fire 8 is about as simple as you can get with a tablet. However, if all you want to do is browse the web, shop online, play casual games, and so on, then it's enough to achieve that. It's a fine choice for folks who just need a large portable screen for taking notes, too.

The Amazon HD Fire 8 has since been replaced by the Amazon HD Fire 10 in our best budget tablets, but it upgrades so little that I wouldn't urge you to pick it up unless you want the larger screen. If you have the budget (or curiosity), I would recommend looking into our best overall tablets or best Android tablets.
