She cast a spell on audiences with her portrayal of Harry Potter love interest Cho Chang in the wizarding films.
Now Katie Leung is preparing for the release of an altogether different role after swapping broomsticks for ballgowns.
The star, who is also part of the cast of hit BBC show Annika alongside Nicola Walker, is due to appear in the upcoming season of period drama Bridgerton.
Leung will star as Lady Araminta Gun, a twice-married and twice-widowed aristocrat, who is debuting her two daughters, Rosamund Li - played by Michelle Mao - and Posy Li - played by Isabella Wei - in the hope of marrying them off to wealthy men.
And the actresses proved they are quite at home in dazzling outfits as they turned out for a glitzy awards bash together.
The trio posed alongside fellow Bridgerton star Yerin Ha, who plays Sophie Baek in the Netflix series, as they attended the Vanity Fair EE BAFTA 2025 Rising Star Party in London.
Posting a photo of the group together on social media, Leung wrote: ‘my fam,’ adding a love heart to the image.
Dundee-born Leung opted for an outfit made of tiered, black tulle with a black, silk ribbon belt by Chinese-born, London-based designer Huishan Zhang.

Ms Leung rose to fame playing Cho Chang in the Harry Potter film franchise
Zhang studied at Central Saint Martins College and graduated in 2010. During his studies, he was handpicked by Delphine Arnault to spend his third year working in the House of Dior - Paris, working in leather goods and Dior’s Haute Couture Atelier.
Since its inception, his brand Huishan Zhang has grown significantly and now has four collections per year which are stocked worldwide at stores including Selfridges, Harrods, Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus, Net-A-Porter, amongst others.
The upcoming series will follow the love life of Benedict Bridgerton, played by Luke Thompson, and Lady Araminta’s attempts to pair one of her daughters with him.
Discussing her latest role, Leung touched on the fact that Harry Potter fans might find it difficult to see her playing a mother to teenage daughters when she herself is only 37 in real life.
No wonder, given Mao is 26 - just 11 years younger than Leung - while Wei is younger at 20.
Leung told website Refinery29: ‘In the Regency Era, [women] would have been married off in their teens so it’s perfectly plausible that I would have teens.’
And discussing her character’s cunning nature, she said: ‘I would never call her evil because I adore her — I think she’s absolutely fabulous. She’s just heavily misunderstood.’
It’s also clear that the costumes in the show have been one of the benefits for Leung, who hinted her character has a fashion sense that is second to none.
She said: ‘But if there’s anything that I can say, I mean, the costumes. They’re always brilliant on that show, but hers are something else.’
