Here’s Your First Incredibly Tiny Glimpse at the ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ Suit

1 day ago 2

Remember back at the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home when Tom Holland’s Peter Parker started his brand new day by making his own, brand new Spidey suit? And it was really cool in the minute or so we got to see it on screen? Well, good news, bad news: our first look at Spider-Man: Brand New Day is here, and Peter’s already got himself a new upgrade.

To celebrate Spider-Man Day today, Sony and Marvel have released the first tiny teaser for Brand New Day, revealing that Peter will get himself a new costume for the movie.

The nine-second-long teaser doesn’t really show us much: the suit itself is obfuscated through brief, tight close-ups and a lot of shadow. But there are certainly a few things you can glean about the new suit here.

There’s a miniscule flash of the almost metallic shiny blue that was part of that “Final Swing” suit, as it became known, from No Way Home, so it looks like there will be some aesthetic holdover from that costume. Some of the subtle hexagonal printing on the material that’s been a staple of the prior Holland Spidey suits remains on the red parts. But that’s all MCU-era legacy: the big new thing here is a callback to the raised webbing of prior Spider-Man movie costumes like Tobey Maguire’s suits throughout the Sam Raimi trilogy, and Andrew Garfield’s second costume from Amazing Spider-Man 2.

It’s a nice touch, and one we’ve not really seen Holland’s past suits really make a defining element like this—and a fun way for this new era for Holland’s Peter Parker to kick off by blending elements of the old and new, especially after his encounter with those old eras in No Way Home.

You’ve got plenty of time to stare and look at what other details you can find in this nine seconds of footage, though: Spider-Man: Brand New Day isn’t set to hit theaters until July 31, 2026.
