If it doesn't feel like the holidays to you yet, hunkering down with a brand new festive movie might help. Netflix and Prime Video are Christmas champs this year, with an assortment of seasonal stories about ski resort Santas, moms gone rogue and holly jolly heists. Disney Plus -- which released a new Jonas Brothers Christmas movie -- is an honorable mention, and we'd never omit Hallmark's yearly contributions

If you're all in on romantic, wintry and red and green-coated offerings, here's a stack of fresh holiday options to sift through.

New streaming Christmas movies for 2025

Who said romantic Christmas movies have to just be Hallmark's thing? In Netflix's Champagne Problems, an American executive travels to France during the holidays for work and hits it off with a guy. It turns out he's associated with the champagne brand she's trying to acquire, but what are the holidays without a bit of drama?

Netflix is looking to swipe your holiday attention with another Christmas rom-com -- this time about two small-time thieves who join forces for a daring Christmas Eve heist. Olivia Holt (Freeform's Cruel Summer) and Connor Swindells (Netflix's Sex Education) play the Santa suit-wearing duo who might turn out to be more than just a reluctant team.

Netflix adds to the rom-com pile with My Secret Santa, a quirky tale about a woman who disguises herself as a man to get a gig as Santa. (It's "like Mrs. Doubtfire in the reverse," according to Netflix's companion site Tudum.) Alexandra Breckenridge (Netflix's Virgin River) dons the St. Nick camouflage and juggles a love interest while working at a luxury ski resort.

Prime Video

Zooey Deschanel and Charlie Cox play a broken-up couple who share a dog in this furry, feel-good Christmas rom-com. Their precious pooch -- Merv -- hasn't been thriving following their split, so they have to jump into action.

Longtime Jonas Brothers fans and newcomers to that club can join the band on a chaotic quest to get from London to New York in time for Christmas. A Very Jonas Christmas Movie is celebrity- and comedy-packed, and a 92% score on Rotten Tomatoes suggests that it could be a fun detour this holiday.

Prime

Cutthroat competition, family bonds and memorable company mottos are all on display in this merry documentary about New York City Christmas tree vendors. The film reveals what it takes to get trees to city sidewalks each year.

Before I unwrap its plot, two things could interest you in A Merry Little Ex-Mas. First, the holiday vibes are strong -- expect festive lights, red and green attire, sledding, snow and decorated trees. The second is that the movie stars '90s icons Alicia Silverstone and Melissa Joan Hart. Story-wise, it follows a couple going through a divorce and coming together for one last Christmas.

Alisha Wetherill/Prime

This Prime Video movie's cast list may bring you cheer -- it stars Michelle Pfeiffer, Felicity Jones, Chloë Grace Moretz, Danielle Brooks, Maude Apatow, Jason Schwartzman, Eva Longoria and more. Pfeiffer plays the main character -- a mom who goes on a solo adventure due to feeling underappreciated by her family at Christmas.

Disney

While it isn't as Christmasy as other films on this list, this new animated Diary of a Wimpy Kid flick does incorporate the holidays. It's based on the third Wimpy Kid book by Jeff Kinney and revolves around Greg Heffley and his dad.

Chip Bergmann/Prime

Shannon Thornton stars in this holiday rom-com as Joy, a woman who hasn't been the luckiest at love or her career. A snowstorm -- and the reclusive stranger she meets because of it -- are transformative for her.
