Super Bowl 2025: Kendrick Lamar Disses Drake During Halftime Show Performance
Don’t turn your TV off until you’ve seen Kendrick Lamar’s 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show performance.
Halfway through the Kansas City Chiefs’ game against the Philadelphia Eagles on Feb. 9, the rapper took the stage at New Orleans’ Caesars Superdome. And fans couldn’t help but notice how he appeared to throw shade at Drake amid their ongoing feud.
One of these disses seemed to be in the form of the “a” chain Kendrick was wearing—which some social media interpreted as a nod to the “A minor” lyric in his five-time Grammy-winning song “Not Like Us.”
“KENDRICK WEARING A LOWER CASE ‘a’ DIAMOND CHAIN FOR A MINOR ?????” one follower wrote on X. “MY KINDA OF HATER. Holy s--t.” Added another, “Did Kendrick wear a lowercase 'a' diamond necklace for 'A minor' lmfao.” Chimed in a third, “Kendrick Lamar really wore an a minor chain while performing they not like us at the Super Bowl lmao.”
In “Not Like Us,” Kendrick raps lyrics like “Say, Drake, I hear you like ‘em young” and “Tryna strike a chord and it’s probably A minor.”
Drake has denied the allegation of being with underage women. On his own track “The Heart Part 6,” the “God’s Plan” rapper says, “I never been with no one underage but now I understand why this the angle that you really mess with / Just for clarity, I feel disgusted, I'm too respected / If I was f--king young girls, I promise I'd have been arrested.”
He later adds, “Drake is not a name that you gon' see on no sex offender list, Eazy-Duz-It / You mentionin' A minor, but n---as gotta B sharp and tell the fans, ‘Who was it?’"

However, the chain wasn’t the only way Kendrick appeared to troll Drake. During his performance of “Not Like Us,” the 37-year-old looked straight at the camera as he rapped, “Say, Drake, I hear you like ‘em young.” And when Kendrick rapped the "A minor" lyric, the crowd joined in.
The Grammy winner also had Serena Williams at one point join him on the stage (the tennis star dated Drake over a decade ago). Other stars who made an appearance during Kendrick’s performance include Samuel L. Jackson and SZA.
