Super Bowl 2025: Taylor Swift Reacts as Crowd Boos During Jumbotron Appearance
Serena Williams is serving up some support.
The 23-time Grand Slam singles winner—who was among the many stars that attended the Feb. 9 Super Bowl matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles—played some defense when it came to Taylor Swift’s less-than-positive reception by the NFL crowd.
During the game inside the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, the jumbotron showcased a few celebrities in attendance, including Adam Sandler and Paul Rudd, who were met with applause. However, as Swift—who was at the game in support of boyfriend Travis Kelce—appeared onscreen alongside her friend and suitemate Ice Spice, audible booing erupted in the stadium, eliciting a surprised look and apparent laugh from the “Fortnight” singer.
And while she was quick to recover from the crowd’s lack of support, Swift wasn’t the only one with the mindset to shake it off.
“I love you @taylorswift13,” Williams (a noted Swiftie) wrote in a Feb. 9 post to X (formerly Twitter). “Dont listen to those booo!!”
Hours after the tennis star—who made a surprise appearance during Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl halftime performance, which shaded her rumored ex Drake—sent her support to Swift, fellow spectator President Donald Trump shared his views on the crowd’s taunting.
"The only one that had a tougher night than the Kansas City Chiefs was Taylor Swift," he wrote in a post to his social media platform Truth Social after the Eagles’ victory. "She got BOOED out of the Stadium. MAGA is very unforgiving!"

Five months prior, the president had also declared his lack of enthusiasm for the “All Too Well” singer after she endorsed his opposition, then-Vice President Kamala Harris, in the 2024 presidential campaign. Instead, Trump revealed his support for Swift’s fellow Chiefs WAG Brittany Mahomes, wife to quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
"Well I actually like Mrs. Mahomes much better," Trump said on Fox News in September. "If you want to know the truth. She's a big Trump fan. I was not a Taylor Swift fan. It was just a question of time.”

He continued, "But I like Brittany. I think Brittany is great. She's a big MAGA fan. She's the one I like much better than Taylor Swift. Wife of the great quarterback. I think she's terrific."
A few days later, he doubled down on his position, writing on Truth Social, "I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!"
