Montoya from La Isla de las Tentaciones—a.k.a. Spain’s version of Temptation Island—captivated fans after he watched his girlfriend Anita cheat on him, leading to the viral “Montoya, por favor!" meme.

Running down the beach to confront his girlfriend for having sex with another man wasn't something José Carlos Montoya expected.

However, that's what eventually played out with him and Anita Williams. This wasn't a scene out of a telenovela but rather the beginning of a viral moment on Temptation Island Spain that made "Montoya, por favor!" a new meme.

The couple of one year joined season eight of the reality show that tests relationships by splitting boyfriends and girlfriends into separate villas. Attractive men and women are sent to the houses to "tempt" the contestants to cheat.

Unfortunately for Montoya, 30, he witnessed the jaw-dropping moment Anita, 26, and her housemate Manuel began having sex in real-time and promptly broke La Isla de las Tentaciones' cardinal rule: entering the other partner's villa.

"What a shame," he muttered on the beach in Spanish alongside host Sandra Baranda. "How disgusting. You're going to regret this so much … She crossed the line, man. She's doing it for revenge."

As he watched Anita kiss Manuel before things got very hot and heavy, an inconsolable Montoya began running down the beach screaming. That prompted Sandra to yell the now-viral phrase, "Montoya, por favor!"

Despite the show being only in Spanish, the contestant's outburst transcended language barriers for online users, with one person writing on X, formerly known as Twitter, "Crashing out really is a universal language. I ain't understand s--t he said but I understood everything."

Meanwhile, others couldn't help but point out his dramatic exit. "Montoya needs a Grammy," one social media user quipped. "He was so gone he was about to recreate Beyoncé's 'Drunk in Love' music video."

But the drama didn't end there. Once Montoya, who hadn't stopped yelling, made it to the women's villa, the single men staying there held him back. When Anita came, she told the others that Montoya was "the first one to mess things up." However, she eventually tried to apologize. Once he left, he threw himself onto the sand and continued to yell dramatically.

As for why Anita decided to take things to the next level with Manuel? She initially kissed the single man in a pool, which Montoya saw during the men's first bonfire ceremony, which led to him ripping off his shirt and yelling. To spite his girlfriend, he received a lap dance from Gabriella in his villa, which Anita had watched.

Although fans must wait for the rest of the season to learn the couple's fate, Montoya reflected on the incident during the program's aftershow. He told Sandra, "I entered the Temptation Island to gain security and seeing your partner break" was heartbreaking.
