Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Deadline reports Faly Rakotohavana, Ava Jean, Sarah Bock, Daniel Di Tomasso, and Jack Cutmore-Scott have joined the cast of the new Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Rakotohavana will play Hugo, “a privileged, likable high school student who is a geek,” opposite Jean as the “chronic do-gooder,” Larkin. Bock is said to play Gracie, “the ringleader for a group of church-going students,” while Di Tomasso has been cast as Abe, “Nova’s single father who is a photojournalist.” Scott rounds out the incoming cast as Mr. Burke, “a popular high school teacher.”

Notably, Sarah Michelle Gellar dismissed a report from TV Line this past March stating the series would introduce “an out-and-proud nerd who comes from money” named Hugo and a “young expert on vampires who’s an acolyte of Gellar’s Buffy” named Gracie, as “fake characters.” With this official press release, it appears there may be at least some truth to those initial reports.

Resident Alien

TV Line, meanwhile, reports Resident Alien has been canceled at Syfy and will conclude with a series finale this August 8.

Eternally Yours

According to TV Line, CBS has ordered Eternally Yours, a pilot for a potential new series from Ghosts showrunners Joe Port and Joe Wiseman. The pilot is said to concern a “long-married vampire couple and their struggle to accept the human who is dating their daughter.”

The Punisher

Jon Bernthal was spotted filming for the Punisher standalone Disney+ special. Head over to Reddit to have a look.

Rick and Morty

Finally, Jerry has been implanted with false memories about Rick in a clip from this Sunday’s season finale of Rick and Morty.
