The Talamasa gets a new title. Get brutal new looks at The Toxic Avenger and I Know What You Did Last Summer. Plus, Alan Cumming takes Miami as a killer cartoon in next week’s Doctor Who. That’s the signpost up ahead–your next stop, Morning Spoilers!
Gremlins 3/Goonies 2/Beetlejuice 3/Minecraft 2
During a recent interview with Deadline, Warner Bros. CEOs Mike De Luca and Pam Abdy confirmed Amblin is developing “new entries in the Gremlins and Goonies franchises” with Chris Columbus, as well as sequels to Minecraft and Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice.
Imminently. The ink might not be dry on the deals yet, but imminently.
Fantastic Four
During a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Joseph Quinn stated his Johnny Storm will be “less callous with other people’s feelings” than earlier interpretations of the character.
He’s a man that leads with a lot of bravado, which can be an affront sometimes. But also he’s funny. Myself and [Marvel Studios boss] Kevin [Feige] were speaking about previous iterations of him and where we are culturally. He was branded as this womanizing, devil-may-care guy, but is that sexy these days? I don’t think so. This version of Johnny is less callous with other people’s feelings, and hopefully there’s a self-awareness about what’s driving that attention-seeking behavior.
Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow
Jason Momoa revealed he’s wrapped filming his scenes as Lobo in Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow on Instagram.
Superman
Meanwhile, Isabelle Merced revealed her Hawkgirl is flying in “every scene” she’s in during a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly.
Every scene I’m flying, pretty much, but it’s cool because I’m an adrenaline seeker. I like being dropped from really high heights. It’s actually one of my favorite things.
The Toxic Avenger
Collider has a new image of Peter Dinklage’s recently-mutated Toxic Avenger.

I Know What You Did Last Summer
Collider also has a new image teasing a “more brutal” version of the Fisherman from the I Know What You Did Last Summer legacy sequel.

Talamasca: The Secret Order
According to Collider, AMC’s Talamasca series is now titled Talamasca: The Secret Order and is expected to premiere sometime this fall.
The War Between the Land and Sea
Speaking with TV Insider, Russell T. Davies stated The War Between the Land and Sea is “very much its own story” but could eventually cross over with Doctor Who “if there’s a demand” for more story.
Some people think it’s like a UNIT spinoff with UNIT investigating cases of the week. It’s not that. It happens to involve UNIT because it takes place on a worldwide scale, but it’s very much its own story and led by Russell Tovey and Gugu Mbatha-Raw, which, what a joy to work with them. Talk about actors you want to work with and push and embrace and celebrate. They are fantastic in it, and they’re so good. I can’t wait for you to see that. It’s lovely.
We’ll see how it goes, to be honest. If there’s a demand for that kind of [crossover], then yes. At the moment, that’s not the plan. I think you have to beware of overcomplicating these worlds sometimes. And bear in mind, it’s still quite a new program for a lot of territories, for Disney+ and for if you’re 8 years old in Great Britain. It’s still a new show with a new Doctor. So I’m being slightly cautious about that. But let’s see where it goes.
Nautilus
AMC+ has released a new trailer for its Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea-inspired series, Nautilus.
Doctor Who
Finally, a homicidal cartoon character (Alan Cumming) becomes self-aware in 1950s Miami in the trailer for “Lux,” this week’s episode of Doctor Who.
