A24’s Backrooms movie has found its stars. The Stranger Things animated series will introduce a new character into the Hawkins crew. Plus, Wednesday drops off a boatload of new character posters ahead of its return. Spoilers, assemble!

The Backrooms

According to Fangoria, the film adaptation of The Backrooms is set to officially enter production this summer with Chiwetel Ejiofor and Renate Reinsve set to star (as opposed to Christin Milotti, as previously rumored).


Superman

Speaking with Fandango, James Gunn revealed his DCU is set in a world where superheroes have existed for the last 300 years.

We’re introducing a whole new world, which is a lot of fun.  We’re in an alternate reality where superheroes have existed for 300 years, and now we’re just picking up on the story of one particular superhero three years after he comes on the scene who happens to be the most powerful metahuman of all time.


Violent Night 2

Bloody-Disgusting has word Violent Night 2 is now scheduled for a December 4, 2026 theatrical release date.


I Know What You Did Last Summer

Bloody-Disgusting additionally has a poster for the new I Know What You Did Last Summer with the Fisherman looming over returning characters Julie James and Ray Bronson. The sum of the angles of that triangle is too monstrous to contemplate!

Saint Claire

Bella Thorne believes god has granted her the ability to kill the wicked and get away with it in the trailer for Saint Claire, co-starring Rebecca De Mornay, Frank Whaley, and Ryan Phillippe.


Don’t Log Off

Elsewhere, the members of an online group chat mysteriously disappear one-by-one in the trailer for Don’t Log Off, starring Ariel Winter, Brielle Barbusca, Luke Benward, Sterling Beaumon, Jack Griffo, Kara Royster, Ashley Argota, and Khylin Rhambo.


Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power

Amazon’s Lord of the Rings prequel series has cast Andrew Richardson, Zubin Varla, and Adam Young in undisclosed roles for its third season. Richardson will appear as a series regular, while Varla and Young will play recurring roles.


Stranger Things: Tales from ’85

According to THR, the upcoming Stranger Things animated series plans to introduce a brand-new character named Nikki, described as “a tough, mohawk-wearing gal.”
