Amazon has altered the smart speaker product lineup. Pray they do not alter it further. The 2022 Echo Dot is still the newest model of its kind in Amazon’s lineup. We don’t have a new generation of the smart home hub just yet, but what we do have is a brand new collaboration with the Star Wars brand. The Alexa-enabled smart speaker can now be bundled with a stand that decks it out to look like a Tie Fighter right out of the movies.

It’s listed at $110, but for a limited time it’s $12 off at just $98. Choose between a the Echo Dot in charcoal, deep sea blue, or glacier white. I’d go with the latter for better camouflage on Hoth.
Vibrant Sound
Despite its size, the speaker is capable of powerful sound with a rich and deep bass. The Amazon Echo has a front-firing 1.73″speaker to produce premium room-filling sound.
You’ll be able to hear your music, podcasts, and audiobooks with clear vocals. It supports lossless HD audio from select streaming services such as Amazon Music HD. Beyond Amazon Music, the Echo also supports streaming from Apple Music, Spotify, SiriusXM, and more. Control volume with the controls on top or simply ask Alexa to adjust the audio levels to your preferences.
As a smart home hub, you’ll be able to control other smart products in your home. Be it you have smart lightbulbs that can change brightness and color or a smart TV with your favorite streaming apps downloaded to it, your Amazon Echo can act as the central hub for controlling the devices in your home. Just use your own voice to ask Alexa to pull up the new episode of Andor or ask to dim the lights at your convenience. While being able to control your devices over Wi-Fi, the Echo Dot can also a Zigbee smart home hub—able to connect and control your Zigbee network of smart devices such as thermostats or security cameras.
Set timers when cooking, ask questions, create calendar events and more simply by talking to Alexa via the Amazon Echo Dot. You can even connect with friends and family who have the Alexa app or an Echo device, or connect to other Echo devices in different rooms of the house. This can be super useful for letting the kids know that dinner is ready. It can also handle calls through your phone.
