Below are seven live video feeds from locations all over Jamaica.
Hurricane Melissa, a storm with the potential to be the strongest hurricane ever to strike Jamaica, is expected to make landfall at around 6 a.m. local time on Tuesday—with the central and western half of the country likely to bear the brunt.
For non-emergency purposes, you can also see what storm conditions are like right this second by watching webcams. Full-time webcams are often set up by hobbyists, sightseeing agencies, and realtors. Whatever the original purpose may have been, any live video feed can become a valuable resource during storms and other disasters, and thankfully the necessary video equipment can stay put while its owner heads for safety.
