Where I Stayed on My "Hatchelorette" in Cabo San Lucas

The newest Four Seasons resort in Cabo San Lucas is meant to evoke a "modern hacienda," but it feels more like an ancient amphitheater, with the shimmering Sea of Cortez serving as its stage. Upon arrival, I can't help but feel like every corner and cranny of the Cabo Del Sol property — from the rooms to the restaurants — is oriented around the ocean.

The Four Seasons Resort and Residences Cabo San Lucas at Cabo Del Sol opened just over a year ago on May 1, 2024. (It's not to be confused with the chain's other property in the area, Costa Palmas.) And while the new hotel is practically begging to be visited by honeymooners, it's also a great fit for groups given its larger accommodations and variety of dining options.

At least, that was my experience: I visited Cabo Del Sol during a group "hatchelorette" trip for three nights in April. (For the uninitiated, a hatchelorette is like a bachelorette, except in honor of someone expecting.) We stayed in an ocean-view four-bedroom villa, and the good news is it was a once-in-a-lifetime kind of vacation. The bad news is, we're ruined forever.

Here's what travelers should know about the luxury addition to Los Cabos.

What I Like About Four Seasons Cabo San Lucas at Cabo Del Sol

From the moment I landed at the airport, everything felt effortless. The hotel had arranged for an airport transfer equipped with water, snacks, and WiFi, and when I arrived on the property, several staff members greeted me with a hibiscus mocktail. I took in the view from the open-air lobby as I settled in.

From there, I was whisked away on a golf cart to the villa that awaited me and my three friends. Now, I've stayed in some pretty spectacular hotels, but this accommodation has to be up there: There was a private pool! And a heated plunge pool! A dining area, but also outdoor tables! The villa was spacious enough for us each to have our own bedroom and bathroom. Plus, the kitchen had been fully stocked with drinks, snacks, and even some of my specific pregnancy cravings. (Pringles, if you must know.)

As if I wasn't already properly spoiled, the staff had also decked out the villa with celebratory balloons and decorations that, quite frankly, rivaled my baby shower. This level of service was far and away one of the standouts; everyone we interacted with was so kind and welcoming. It was an added perk that we had a dedicated host as part of our stay in the villa. (Galo, truly the best!)

As effortless as it is at Cabo Del Sol, we didn't just lounge around all day on a pool float — although that would've been plenty nice, too. Instead, we made the most of our stay by booking a variety of activities, including a yoga class, cooking class, spa treatments, and a private sunset cruise. On the last night, we were treated to a chef-prepared dinner at the villa, followed by an expert-guided stargazing experience and a movie night under the stars. (I told you — ruined.)

And lastly, the food was another highlight. Resort dining can be hit or miss, and it's easy to feel limited by the set number of options. That wasn't the case at Cabo Del Sol, however, where each restaurant had its own distinct menu. Dinner at Palmerio on the first night, for example, consisted of comforting pasta dishes and rich desserts. (The tiramisu was a personal favorite.) But I also loved lunch at Coraluz, which came with bright Baja Mexican flavors and some of the finest fish tacos I've had.

It was also nice to have the convenience of round-the-clock in-room dining for any sudden cravings. This was a hatchelorette, after all.

What to Consider Before Booking Four Seasons Cabo San Lucas at Cabo Del Sol

As spectacular as the entire stay was, I do have one consideration for interested travelers to keep in mind.

For starters, many of the beaches around Cabo San Lucas aren't the most welcoming for those who aren't seasoned swimmers. The waters can be rough, and it's not uncommon for there to be sizable rocks. So, while Cabo Del Sol has a swimmable beach equipped with lounge seating and water sports, the sea was fairly choppy, and I found myself more drawn to the more predictable waters of the pool.

Who Four Seasons Cabo San Lucas at Cabo Del Sol Is Best For

Based on my experience, I find Cabo Del Sol to be a great destination for groups, especially if you're able to spring for a villa and make the most of your time there together.

As with many other Four Seasons properties, Cabo Del Sol is also well suited for couples seeking a romantic getaway. (It would make for a great honeymoon destination, in my opinion.) And lastly, because of the variety of activities and family-friendly pool, the property is a great fit for families with children of all ages.

Is Four Seasons Cabo San Lucas at Cabo Del Sol Worth the Trip?

Cabo Del Sol comes with quite the price tag, of course, but I found that to be backed up by a superior level of service, pristine accommodations, and fantastic dining options. If you're gonna splurge, you won't be disappointed.
