Noah Hawley talks about what he’d carry on with if and when Alien: Earth season 2 gets confirmed. Could another season of Marvel Zombies be on the way? Plus, Colin Farrell doesn’t like the odds on Penguin season 2. Spoilers, away!

Io9 2025 Spoiler

Poor Boy

Deadline reports Guy Pearce, Teresa Palmer, and Ann Dowd are attached to star in Poor Boy, a “supernatural thriller” from director Jeffrey Walker. The story concerns “a boy [who] awakens from his coma only to claim to be the reincarnation of a man who died seven years ago. As the boy’s parents and the family of the deceased man wrestle with suspicion and grief, they are faced with two impossible alternatives—are they dealing with a genuine rebirth or a vengeful ghost?”

Bond 26

In a new interview with Variety, Sydney Sweeney stated she “couldn’t” comment on rumors Amazon’s Jeffrey Bezos “wants” her to play the female lead in the company’s upcoming James Bond film “very much.”

I can’t. [Seven-second pause.] I don’t know. [Ten-second pause.] To be honest, I don’t know all the Bond rumors, but I’ve always been a huge fan of the franchise, and I’m excited and curious to see what they do with it. Depends on the script. I think I’d have more fun as James Bond.

Finding Frankie

Deadline also has word that a film adaptation of the video game Finding Frankie is now in development from Mortal Kombat producer Sean Robins. Said to “blend the thrilling intensity of Squid Game with the haunting atmosphere of Five Nights at Freddy’s,” the story concerns a life-or-death game show set in a trampoline park hosted by characters like Hotline Henry, Deputy Duck, and the titular Frankie, himself.  Steven C. Miller (Silent Night) will direct the project from a script by Cory Todd Hughes & Adrian Speckert.

Daredevil: Born Again

Wilson Bethel confirmed Bullseye will return for the third season of Daredevil: Born Again during a recent appearance at San Antonio’s Spacecon.

As some of you might know, we’ve already [got] picked up for another new season that we will start doing next year. We’ll have more Bullseye on the way, Kingpin, and all the rest.

In the new season next year, there are whole new avenues of Dex’s interesting dynamic, messed up psyche, that we get to explore, and some really fun stuff is on the way fo Bullseye and Dex.

Alien: Earth

Elsewhere, Noah Hawley discussed his plans for the yet-to-be-ordered second season of Alien: Earth in a recent interview with Empire.

That moment of, ‘Now we rule,’ is such an exhilarating moment for the audience. And then the question is… well, it was an exhilarating moment when Dustin Hoffman ran out of the church and they got on the bus [in The Graduate]. But what comes after? The [Weyland-Yutani] ships are coming and all they have is problems.

The Penguin

Colin Farrell also “bet against” a second season of The Penguin in a recent interview with Comic Book.

Oh, I don’t know. I have a bit of a, generally speaking, I have a bit of a negativity bias. Apparently, I’ve been told by various people close to me. So I would say I would bet against, but not by much. I know that the powers that be are thinking of storylines that could justify another eight hours because it all goes off Matt Reeves’s world. It conveniently worked that the death at the end of The Batman and the devastation within Gotham opened up a power vacuum that then Oz could try and capitalize on. That was perfect for the parallel eight hours that we had. And then [The Batman Part II] will pick up, whatever, a few weeks after the show ended. But I kind of bet against, but not by a wide mark.

Marvel Zombies

However, a new report from Daniel Richtman suggests Disney+ has ordered a second season of Marvel Zombies.

Smiling Friends

Finally, a new promo for the third season of Smiling Friends reimagines the cast as characters from Dragon Ball Z.
