Following on from my poll on what iPhone 17 model you, dear readers who partake in Apple products, went for and a subsequent survey about what feature has one choose a Pro iPhone over a standard model despite the price differences, I am now here asking you what feature you consider is the most important in a smartphone in general.

Regardless of whether you’re part of the Android Army or Team Apple, I’m curious which one of the features is the thing that most influences your purchase of a new phone. Go vote in the poll below, and if I've missed out on anything, please let me know in the comments below, and tell me why the feature you chose is most important.

For what it’s worth, I still think cameras ultimately dictate what phone I put my SIM card in and call my everyday smartphone. I snap a lot of photos for work, and having a set of rear cameras that offer both the flexibility and consistency in photo results is key for me.

And it’s the reason why I use an iPhone 16 Pro Max, as I feel Pro iPhones consistently deliver high-quality shots, so they provide me with a camera system I can fully rely on. While the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra offer class-leading shots a good amount of the time, as do other Android models on our best camera phone list, I don’t feel that they offer quite the ease of shooting experience as iPhones or consistently.

Equally, a robust design and a 120Hz display are also important factors for me, as is a good chip for a bit of mobile gaming, but cameras are still the highest priority for me.

But I am just one man with one opinion, so let me know what you think, and head to the comments for any other thoughts and feelings you might have.
