Seagate's 22TB Expansion external hard drive drops to an all-time low of $249.99 — ideal for massive backups and data archives

For those who need to carry large volumes of data while traveling, the Seagate Expansion 22TB external HDD is currently available at a great price. This high-capacity storage drive saw a price drop a few months ago, dropping to about $290, but right now it is available at its lowest price yet of $249.99 on Amazon.

This external hard drive should offer plenty of space for you to store your pictures, videos, game file backups, and all sorts of other data. It is also a reliable option if you don’t want to rely on the cloud or invest in a dedicated NAS.

The Seagate Expansion drive isn't meant for speed-critical data transfers, such as video editing or gaming directly off the drive, but rather as a long-term storage and data backup solution. Whether you’re archiving old projects, offloading media libraries, or creating backups, this external HDD offers excellent value per terabyte, especially at its current discounted price. It is essentially a traditional desktop hard disk drive contained inside a rugged plastic enclosure with a USB 3.0 port for data transfer, which isn’t the fastest but is still good enough for large data backups.

In addition to the USB connection, a dedicated power source is also required, so make sure you have an additional outlet next to your PC. The drive has a fairly small form factor, measuring 1.65 x 7.04 x 4.92 inches and weighing 2.64 pounds.

It is compatible with Windows, Chrome, and Mac operating systems, although for the latter, it is recommended to reformat the drive to enable Time Machine compatibility.
