Nvidia officially announced the laptop variants of the RTX 50-series back at CES in January, but up until now, there has been no official confirmation on the existance of an entry-level, RTX 5050 mobile.

However, that hasn’t stopped manufacturers from marketing products with RTX 5050 inside. As per recent product listings on Laptops Direct, a UK-based online retail store, Lenovo is all set to launch new gaming laptops powered by the RTX 5050 under its LOQ and Legion lineups.

All key features and specifications for the upcoming Legion 5 15IRX10 and LOQ 15IRX10 have also been listed, confirming that both laptops will be running on Intel’s 13th-gen HX series mobile CPUs. Additionally, the unannounced RTX 5050 GPU is listed to arrive with 8GB of VRAM, similar to the RTX 5060. Unfortunately there is no mention of memory type (GDDR6 or GDDR7) nor do we have information around the memory bandwidth, core count or clock speeds.

While both laptops are currently marked as unavailable, screenshots shared by Videocardz suggest that the LOQ model is priced at £1,150 ($1,528) while the Legion variant is a bit more expensive at £1,350 ($1,749).

We cannot confirm if those price tags are legitimate, but it is quite steep, especially considering Nvidia’s official pricing for the RTX 5060 laptop, which is set to go on sale on May 19 starting at $1,099. Could this be an early indicator that RTX 50-series laptops are going to be a lot more expensive, just like the desktop class GPU range?

Interestingly, Lenovo's Product Manager had indicated in November last year that the upcoming Nvidia RTX 5050 mobile GPU would coexist with the RTX 4050, rather than replacing it. Essentially the RTX 5050 would be positioned at a higher price point, leading to increased costs for budget-friendly gaming laptops.

This is not the first time we are seeing a Lenovo branded laptop featuring the RTX 5050. Back in January, the company posted an unboxing video for the IdeaPad Pro 5 on YouTube where the description section underneath mentions the option of configuring the laptop with an Nvidia RTX 5050 graphics card.

HP was also seen listing its budget-friendly Victus series with model number 15-fa2xxx featuring the option of newer RTX 5050 and RTX 5060 GPUs, alongside previous-gen laptop GPUs including the RTX 4060, 4050, 3050 and 2050.
